About  the  Artist

I have been painting for fifteen years, but have just recently made a career change from art educator to full time artist as I raise my two daughters at home. As I paint for my girls, I hope to share my passion for creation with others, and spread joy and beauty through my work.

I find myself artistically entwined with topics of a deep emotional pull. I paint as a way to explore and interpret the world around me, revealing to others the beauty I discover in the less obvious places. I am interested in capturing fleeting moments of time through the lens of beauty, passion, growth, or creation. I love thinking about how each individual has a different experience when looking at the world. Through my work, I hope to reveal a new way of seeing to others.

My work evolves in style, medium and content, as new inspirations come into my life. I am drawn to both the versatility of acrylics and the endless, mysterious layering opportunities of encaustics. I am captivated by the drama of color, texture and movement and the infinite possibilities of how to use these as a way to address the space of a canvas.

My paintings are a reflection of how I interpret the world around me and they reveal the places in which I feel are worth pausing and looking deeper, closer. As an artist, I am both a maker and a story-teller. With each piece, I hope to awaken a newfound appreciation for something within my viewers.
